“Tanker Saturday” to put tanks in the field to honor GIs who have served in America’s armor divisions
On Saturday, August 6th at 12 Noon, The Museum of American Armor at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage, will honor America’s citizen soldiers who have served in the nation’s armor divisions by operating in the field a Cold War M48 Patton tank, a WW II Sherman tank, a Pacific theater Stuart tank, as well as half tracks and other tracked military vehicles. The program is made possible, in part, through the support of PSEG.
The Museum of American Armor, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage, is inside the grounds of Old Bethpage Village Restoration and is open year around, Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission donations are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and veterans and $5 for children.
“Tanker Saturday” on August 6th begins at 12 Noon with tanks operating periodically throughout the day.

The Model A Car Club holds its Auto Olympics beside the museum with a wonderful array of these classic cars on display midday.

The museum’s Armor Experience departs at 8:00 a.m., Please email us through this web site if you wish to participate as an observer as an armor column probes enemy defenses and discovers they are far from defeated. A donation of $100 per adult is requested.

It happens every year, a convoy of armor departs for the Massapequa Fourth of July Parade and helps celebrate our nation’s birthday. See you along the line of march.
