photofansMay 18th has vehicles from the Museum of American Armor on display at Newsday’s annual car show held on its corporate campus off of Pinelawn Road in Melville. Admission is free and it has become one of the most family friendly car shows in the region.


World War II Encampment @ Old Bethpage Restoration Village

WWIICamp2013adMay 18th and 19th welcomes the much anticipated World War II Encampment at Old Bethpage Restoration Village, Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage complete with much of the museum’s armor collection, living historians, reenactments along with an opportunity to see an entire armored column on the move through a landscape that appears to be France during the summer of 1944.

DSC_4797May 25 through 27 at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport features aircraft participating in the Memorial Day weekend Bethpage federal Credit Union air show and the armor museum’s iconic vehicles including a Long Tom artillery cannon, its rare High Speed Tractor, Sherman tank and more.  An admission donation will be requested of $15 for adults, $10 for vets and seniors and $5 for children but watch the museum’s online web site for early bird deals.

The Levittown Memorial Day parade

m20m8jeepMay 27th The Levittown Memorial Day parade will feature the museum’s M20 armored command car similar to the one that brought General Patton across European battlefields and an M2 Scout car that acted as an Allied reconnaissance vehicle during bitter WW II fighting.
